BOARD OF DIRECTORS - OFFICERS
The presiding officer of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, responsible for the general functioning of the League and the logistical operation and coordination of League volunteers. Oversees the Executive Board and all board members and volunteers for the League. Umpire in Chief, Scheduler, Head Scorekeeper, summer programs, and the emeritus advisers directly report to the President.

The Vice-President assists the President, and is responsible for the operational activities of the League. Field Crew Chief, Equipment, Uniforms, Player Development, Coach Administrator, and Staff Certification directly report to the Vice President.

Records the activities of the League and maintains appropriate files, mailing lists, and corporate records. Oversees League communications processes. Webmaster, Events Coordinator, Communications Chair, and Social Media Manager report to the Secretary.

SECRETARY
Receives and distributes League funds and maintains an up-to-date accounting of League funds and budget. Responsible for all financial filings and oversees all League volunteers involved with income-generating activities. Fundraising Coordinator and Snack Bar Coordinator report to the Treasurer.

TREASURER
Registers and oversees the general well-being of players and team staff volunteers. Manages the selection of team staff, team formation and maintains confidential information in the League database. Oversees all League volunteers involved with League personnel and safety, including Safety Coordinator, USA Softball Liaison, and Divisional Player Agents. Per League bylaws, Player Agent must be a female.

LEAD PLAYER AGENT
BOARD OF DIRECTORS - ADDITIONAL MEMBERS
Maintains the integrity of the Playing Rules of MVLA Girls Softball by overseeing hiring, training, performance and scheduling of qualified umpires. Defines and runs the Youth Umpiring program for the League. Handles all requests for interpretation of rules and resolution of game protests. Member of the rules committees to ensure a thorough knowledge of current rules and serve as final word on rule interpretation.

UMPIRE-IN-CHIEF (UIC)
Defines the League Safety Plan, trains team staff, and promotes the use of emergency procedures in the event of an accident/incident involving any member of the League while engaged in League events. Ensures first-aid kits are fully stocked and distributed to each team, provides Team Managers with Incident Reporting procedures and forms, and follows up on any injury to a League member. Investigates field hazard complaints.

SAFTEY COORDINATOR
Trains Team Field Crew Parents in field set up and take down. Makes “Rain Out” and cancellation information available to team coaches, managers and players via the website, hotline and/or phone contact. Maintains the relationship with the Cities of Mountain View and Los Altos for field maintenance and improvements.

Ensures softball fields and facilities used for League practice and play are consistently maintained in a safe condition. Develops budget and oversees maintenance and purchase of all field and facilities equipment.

The Clinic Coordinator organizes instructional clinics for players. Instructional clinics in the past have been scheduled outside of practices, usually as Sunday clinics, or instruction support during team scheduled practices.

Manages pre-season marketing collateral materials, banners, school ambassadors, and all marketing events and programs. Raises awareness for MVLAGS within the community.

Manages budgeting, purchase and inventory of all League equipment used for playing, field preparation and repair. Oversees distribution and return of equipment to each team ensuring all equipment is in safe and appropriate condition and team bags are equipped with First Aid Kits in cooperation with the Safety Coordinator.

Budgets and orders uniforms, visors, and socks for League players and staff and performs minor uniform repairs. Works with the Team Uniform Coordinators to distribute and collect uniforms to teams. Orders League apparel and manages sales on opening day and during season.

Manages all aspects of Summer and Fall Nova including tryouts, registration, budget, tournament selection and communication.

Responsible for planning, organizing leaders and volunteers for, and promoting League-wide events including Opening Day, Photo Day, Mountain View Parade, Stanford Game, and Closing Day. Actively promotes the visibility of the League through the media, community involvement, website and newsletter.

USA Softball Liaison
The USA Softball Liaison manages relationship between the League the local, regional, and national offices of the USA Softball Association. She/he handles player, staff, and umpire registration, ACE certification issues, rostering, and insurance.

Manages food selection, purchase and inventory for the League snack bar. Oversees scheduling of team parents and substitutes, opens and closes Snack Bar and manages the budget and cash box.

Instructs proper scorekeeping procedures to all Team Scorekeepers. Gathers Game Summary Reports and tabulates team records for each division, tracks pitching eligibility in 8U-16U Divisions and other player and team statistics as needed. Determines the seeding for season-end tournaments.
